Boston's renowned metalcore ensemble, Converge, is preparing for the release of their latest musical offering, "Hum of Hurt," marking their second album within the current year. Following their earlier non-collaborative release, "Love Is Not Enough," the band has now unveiled the title track from this forthcoming record, which is slated for a June 5th debut.
This new collection of songs draws inspiration from "The Hum," an enigmatic, low-frequency auditory phenomenon perceptible to only a small fraction of the global populace. The band's vocalist, Jacob Bannon, contemplated the concept of "The Hum" as an auditory manifestation of global suffering, resonating across the cosmos. Contrary to being a direct continuation of "Love Is Not Enough," this project emerged from the band's desire to delve into noise-rock influences, a direction that was set aside during the creation of the more metal-centric "Love Is Not Enough."
In support of their new music, Converge will embark on an extensive tour across North America, commencing on April 2nd. This series of performances will allow fans to experience the new tracks live and engage with the band's evolving sound. The band's continuous creative output and commitment to exploring diverse sonic landscapes highlight their dynamic artistry and enduring presence in the heavy music scene.
